The combination of economic pressures and perpetual lifestyle changes results in adjustments to the proportion of pharmacists seeking portfolio careers. The flexibility of short-term and part-time posts enables qualified pharmacists to match their immediate needs to those of service providers. However, financial uncertainties and a contracting labour market equally mean that pharmacists increasingly seek longer-term positions offering a secure income and greater job stability.
