Return-to-practice schemes will continue
Shortages in maternity staff caused, for example, by retirements or the trend towards more part-time working, will continue to be partly offset by return-to-practice (RTP) schemes. However, RTP schemes require resources to train and supervise staff. Lack of resources has constrained programmes in some areas.
