Patient safety and integrated approach

Challenging behaviour is socially constructed and is a product of interaction between the individual and their environment. Assessment and intervention must therefore address the person, the environment and the interaction between the two. Increasing demand is placed on psychiatrists to assess patient risk outside of hospital settings.
