Non-service work

The introduction of centralised contracts allows doctors to do extracurricular work, research, work with professional bodies or work for the wider NHS or a trust. This improves the doctor’s own experience, helps shape the future service, and helps improve efficiency. Good leadership makes a specialty more attractive to future trainees.
