NHS restructuring leads to more pharmacists fulfilling strategic roles

NHS changes and the increase in the contribution of pharmacy to community care and public health lead to pharmacists taking on strategic management roles in the system, such as on commissioning boards. The increasing importance of medicines optimisation increases the possibility of this occurring.
