Maternal age at pregnancy

Changes in maternal age at pregnancy affect the need for specialist treatment options to be available.

For example, reductions in the number of teenage pregnancies and an overall increase in the number of pregnancies in women in the 30 – 45 age group change the proportion of services offered.
