Introduction of personalised budgets
The introduction of personalised budgets would allow patients to choose the services they want and become more empowered.
A possible knock-on effect of this may be the fragmentation of service providers, leading to increased competition between providers to provide services. This would also make it increasingly difficult to provide integrated regional or national services.
