Increasing support to hidden workforce
Need to consider how we offer better support (including training) to the huge number of carers looking after relatives, neighbours and friends
We could offer tailored support and training to carers and community leaders in primary and secondary prevention, as well as caring skills. These could allow patients to live longer healthier lives in their own communities And reduce admissions. It would also help to reduce the number of carers who themselves become ill by ensuring they have access to the support they need.
