End of national pay bargaining in the NHS
The possible future introduction of local pay bargaining in the NHS would have a number of implications, including regional pay differentials (which might reduce labour mobility), a possible deterioration in local industrial relations and the introduction of competency and/or performance pay, possibly linked to client outcomes. The impact of this on staff motivation and turnover is uncertain.
