Change in incidence of tropical diseases

Rising incidences of a growing list of pest-borne diseases such as Lyme disease, West Nile virus, Dengue fever and even malaria are a serious cause for concern in the UK. Predicted changes to the climate in the UK, with warmer and wetter summers, provide breeding grounds for a number of pest-borne diseases. Robust public health measures are put into place to minimise the effects of the potential outbreaks. However, increased pressures are put on acute services.
